Desilting Solutions was engaged by Warrumbungle Shire Council to remove and beneficially reuse approximately 2200m³ of biosolids from the maturation pond at Dunedoo Sewerage Treatment Plant.
An unmanned floating pontoon dredge, operated via a cable and winch system, was used to extract the biosolids from the pond. During pumping, the material was dosed with polymer and directed into the GeoTubes, where it was dewatered to a spadable consistency. The dewatered biosolids were then transported to a local farm and spread for beneficial reuse.
